We’re currently partnering with an amazing client to find a Staff Engineer who will drive technical excellence, make architectural decisions, and foster innovation across teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Strategy & Leadership: Define and drive long-term technical vision, ensuring architectural alignment across teams.
- System Design & Scalability: Architect scalable, high-performance solutions with resilience and maintainability.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor engineers at all levels through coaching, workshops, and design reviews.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with Tech Leads, Principal Engineers, and Product Managers to align engineering with business goals.
- Quality & Standards Enforcement: Establish and uphold best practices, coding standards, and design principles.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve system bottlenecks to meet performance SLAs and user expectations.
- Security & Compliance: Champion security best practices and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
- Tech Roadmap Contribution: Influence and contribute to the technology roadmap, advocating for refactoring, scalability, and innovation.
- Low-Level Solution Design: Collaborate with Solution Architects to create detailed designs based on high-level architecture.
- Hands-on Contribution: Balance strategic responsibilities with coding, code reviews, and proof-of-concepts.
- Stakeholder Communication: Bridge engineering, product, and business teams, effectively communicating technical topics.
- Technical Backlog Ownership: Manage relevant technical backlogs/roadmaps, ensuring items are included in planning sessions.
- On-Standby Responsiveness: Be available to promptly address system issues, troubleshooting and resolving them with agility.
- Functional Requirements Interpretation: Ensure the team clearly understands functional requirements provided by the Product Owner.
- Technical Standards & Quality Assurance: Maintain and enforce technical standards, aligning with industry benchmarks and organizational expectations.
- Culture of Innovation & Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster innovation, encourage technical exploration, and align initiatives with business objectives.
- Mentorship & Continuous Learning: Act as a mentor and technical advisor, providing guidance, sharing knowledge, and supporting team growth.
- Project Planning Support: Assist in breaking down complex projects, estimating timelines, and setting milestones.
- Technical Oversight: Collaborate with Tech Leads to ensure technical alignment, efficiency, scalability, and robustness in payment orchestration.
- Coding & Development: Contribute to the codebase, enforce high-quality coding standards, and engage in pair programming.
- Software Life Cycle Management & Security: Oversee the software life cycle, implement security patches, scan for vulnerabilities, and review code for compliance.
- Tech Stack Decisions & Problem Solving: Make informed technology choices and address challenges in payment orchestration.
- On-Standby Responsiveness: Be available to quickly respond to system issues, collaborating with teams to resolve them efficiently.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Understanding of agile development practices
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices for continuous integration and delivery
- Basic knowledge of user interface and user experience design principles
