Data Cloud Platform Architect

Profile:

Deep expertise in AWS data services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Redshift) and exposure to Azure data services;
Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation;
Proven track record in defining and enforcing data governance and security standards;
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with the ability to prototype and set coding standards;
Experience in data modelling, ETL development, and managing large datasets (including Iceberg tables);
Proficiency in designing scalable, cost-efficient, and secure cloud data architectures;
Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions;
Knowledge of ETL tools, data integration, and experience working with Kafka preferred;
Familiarity with Azure Databricks for data engineering and analytics is an advantage;
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to production monitoring and troubleshooting;
Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills;
Fluency in English.

Responsibilities:

Architect and deliver end-to-end cloud data solutions, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency;
Lead data migration, optimisation, and modernisation initiatives across multi-cloud environments;
Define and implement data models, ETL pipelines, and integration processes in platforms such as Redshift, DuckDB, and PostgreSQL;
Design and manage data orchestration workflows using Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions;
Implement and monitor logging, tracing, and observability frameworks using AWS CloudTrail, X-Ray, and related tools;
Establish and maintain coding standards and best practices for data engineering in Python and SQL;
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data architectures;
Produce clear technical documentation and provide mentorship and guidance to data engineering teams;
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative, efficiency-driven solutions.
